The Palmyra Varsity hockey Team will enter the 2011-12 season as a young team ready to embrace the challenges ahead. Charles White, the lone senior will be supported by a core group of underclassmen. Juniors: Eric Ehli, Nick Filingeri, Tyler Haag, Forest Davis, Alex Daley and sophomores: Nick Stoner, Riley Litman, Daniel Steiner, Steven Schnoke and James Maloney will bring a blue collar work ethic to the ice again this season. Sam Wasson will lead this season’s varsity team from between the pipes with his familiar calm assertive demeanor and will be backed up by Josh Hoffer. Josh is a relatively inexperienced player that has employed hard work, dedication and an exceptional attitude to win the Varsity backup job and a much deserved starting JV goalie position. Coach Dennis McKenna moves from JV to the Varsity head coach position this season. Coach McKenna believes success is measured by the amount of effort put forth by a team and expects every player to arrive at practices and games ready to give one hundred per cent. Assistant coaches Tom Miller, Bob Daley, Ian McKenna and Alex Shuey collectively will provide years of combined experience and hockey know how.
