 The Annville-Cleona Ice Hockey Team is looking forward to the 2009 – 2010 Season and it’s 14th Season in the CPIHL. After making it all the way to the Viola Cup Finals in 2009 the Dutchmen are looking forward to another winning season. With our 4th year Head Coach Nathan Brightbill at the helm and his Assistant Coach Bob Leiby. We are looking to see another solid performance from our Varsity Team including another run at the playoffs in the 2009-2010 Season. The team will continue to be managed this year by Annville-Cleona Graduate Dale Baker.
The Dutchmen will be lead this year by (4) Seniors James Schott, Brice Crawford, Doug Shaffer and Ashley Marie Platteborze. These Seniors are all joined on offense by a large number of returning underclassmen like Matt Bentz, Preston ByDeLey, Arthur Lester, Aaron Gerber along with (2) Freshmen Robert Fidler and Tanner Fitting and newcomer Junior Zachary Whitman. Our defense will be lead by Sophomore David Ober who is joined by (3) Freshmen Defensemen Andrew Jocham, Cody Brightbill and Daulton Kapp. In the center position will be James Schott and Dylan Kapp who both had strong performances in 2008-2009 season along with Sophomore Aaron Gerber and Freshmen Robert Fidler. Between the pipes will be returning Goalie Sophomore Matthew Schultz.
Our team has a lot experience going into the 2009-2010 season after only losing (2) Seniors. We have the addition of (5) Freshmen Skaters who bring a wealth of experience to the team and are expected to contribute at the first drop of the puck this year.
“Our Middle School team is once again lead by returning Head Coach Ed Hine, Sr., Assistant Coaches Sam ‘Barney’ Breidenstine and Goalie Coach Brad Standish. Joining our MS coaching staff this year is 1st year Assistant Coach Steve Bowman. The eleven A-C MS players will be joined by one player from Northern Lebanon, two players from ELCO and two players from the Lebanon Middle Schools. With so many new players joining this season, the combined team will be working on improving and strengthening their skills throughout the season.”
The families, friends and fans of The Annville Cleona Ice Hockey Club are also very excited to be starting our second season in our new home rink.
