SCORE SHEET INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

 

The purpose of the instruction is to provide for a consistent and uniform preparation of the CPIHL score sheet.  The scoring page will be considered as page 1 and the penalty page as page 2.

 

 

A:                    Scoring Page

 

Block 1:          Ice Time:  Indicate actual time game is to start.  Refer to your master schedule.  If your start time is officially 6:45 PM, indicate 6:45.  Note:  Allotted time per game is 1 hour, 30 minutes.

 

Block 2:          Game number:  Indicate the game number for your scheduled game.  Game numbers are listed on your master schedule.

 

Block 3:          Game Time:  Normally same as Ice Time.  However, if the ice rink or previous game is running behind schedule, Game Time officially starts when the Zamboni doors close.

 

Block 4:          Date:  Indicate the date of your game.

 

Block 5:          Home:  Indicate the name of your team if you are the home team.

 

Block 6:          Location:  Indicate the name of the ice rink where the game is being played.

 

Block 7:          Away:  Indicate the name the opposing team.

 

 

Block 8:          Player/Coach Information:  Both Home and Away

 

                        Block 8a:  #:  Indicate players in ascending jersey number, 2,3,4, etc.

                        Block 8b:  Player:  Print each player’s full name corresponding to jersey number.  Note:  players do not have to sign the score sheet.

                        Block 8c:  Goals:  At end of game scorekeeper tallies goals and indicates accordingly by player.

                        Block 8d:  Assists:  At end of game scorekeeper tallies assists and indicates accordingly by player.

                        Block 8e:  PM (Penalty Minutes):  At end of game scorekeeper tallies penalty minutes and indicates accordingly by player.

                        Block 8f:  No title:  Place an “X” beside each player listed to indicate participation in game.  If player is not available do not place an “X” in the box.

                        Block 8g:  Coach:  Print full name of Head Coach.  Head Coach will sign at end of game.

 

Block 9:          Scoring Summary:  Both Home and Away

 

                        Block 9a:  Per:  Indicate the period in which goal is scored.

                        Block 9b:  Time:  Indicate time on clock goal is scored.

                        Block 9c:  Score:  Indicate number of player scoring goal.  Information provided by Referee.

                        Block 9d & e:   Assist:  Indicate number of player credited with the first and second assist.  Information provided by Referee.

 

                        Block 9f:  Type:  Indicate type of goal as listed on score sheet.  E for Even Strength, S for Shorthanded, P for Power Play or O for Open Net.

                        Block 9g:  Numbers 1 through 50.  Used to track number of shots on goal per period.  Score keepers preference as to type of mark used to indicate shots on goal.

 

 

B:                    Penalty Page

 

Block 1:          Game Number:  As on page 1, indicate game number.

 

Block 2:          Time Out:  Home/Away.  Indicated the period and time the time out is taken by each team.  Note: Each time is entitled to one time out per game.

 

Block 3:          Shots On Goal:  Home/Away.  By period indicate the number of shots each team has accumulated by period, totaled at end of game.

 

Block 4:          Scoring Summary:  Both Home/Away:  By period indicate the number of goals scored by each team, totaled at the end of game.

 

Block 5:          Goal Tenders:  List the starting goaltenders both teams.  List any substitutions made at the time of occurrence.

                        Block 5a:  List goaltenders number.

                        Block 5b:  Print goaltenders name.

                        Block 5c:  Indicate number of minutes goaltender played.

                        Block 5d:  Indicate total number of shots goaltender faced.

                        Block 5e:  Indicate number of goals permitted by each goaltender.

 

Block 6:          Penalties:  Home/Away

                        Block 6a:  #.  Indicate the number of the player(s) receiving the penalty.

                        Block 6b:  Min:  Indicate the number of minutes the player received.

                        Block 6c:  Penalty:  Indicate the penalty, (Interference, Roughing, etc.)

                        Block 6d:  Per:  Indicate the period penalty occurs.

Block 6e:  Time Off:  Indicated the time the penalty occurs and the player is removed from the ice.

Block 6f:  Time On:  Indicate the time the player returns to the ice or bench.  For two minutes penalties it is normally two minutes after coming off the ice.  However, when offsetting penalties or a 10 minute misconduct is incurred, players must wait for the first stoppage in play.

 

Note:  When a player receives a double minor, list the penalty twice as two minutes.  There are no four minute penalties. When listing time off for first penalty, do not list time off for second. Time off for second is based on (1) when first penalty expires, or (2) when opposing team scores power play goal. If opposing team scores on first penalty, time on for first penalty equals time of power play goal, and also equals time off for second penalty.

Block 7:          Suspended Players (Home & Away)            

                        Block 7a:        Team.  Indicate H or A for Home or Away

                        Block 7b:        #.  Indicate player’s number.  If coach, leave blank.

                        Block 7c:        Print Name.  Enter Player or Coaches Name

                        Block 7d:        Sign Name.  Not Applicable.  No Longer Required

 

Block 8:          Remarks:          Coach may enter remarks regarding the game

Block 9:          Please Check here if a Supplementary Report is Being Written.  Block used by Referees

 

Block 10:        Referee.           Print Referee’s full name.  Referee will sign in allotted space at end of game.

 

Block 11:        Referee.           Print Referee’s full name.  Same as above.  Referee will sign in allotted space at end of game.

 

Block 12:        Scorekeeper.    Print Scorekeeper’s full name.  Scorekeeper will sign in allotted space at end of game.

Reporting Scores – All Levels

 

Representatives from both the Home and Away teams are responsible for e-mailing the game score to Dennis Brightbill at dennisb@landex.com.

 

In the Subject field of the e-mail, enter the level and the game number.

In the text of the email, enter the away team score and the home team score.  Please list home team score last.  Follow that with your name and your team name.  A Sample follows:
